Wisconsin Avenue Viaduct in Milwuakee

Completed in 1993

The viaduct replaced the existing multi‑span arch bridge that has become severely deteriorated. The viaduct has 11 spans, the typical span of length of 48.16 m is formed by two parallel arches. Each arch is assembled from two precast segments connected at the crown with a post‑tensioned concrete joint. The precast segments have a trough cross‑section. Once erected, the troughs were filled with concrete. The deck is assembled from precast girders and a composite slab.
