The bridge structure is formed by a prestressed concrete deck, which is in the main span suspended on two outwards inclined steel arches. The arches´ span is 103 m, their rise is 11.3 m. The deck’s depth is 0.59 m. The bridge forms a self-anchored structural system in which a substantial part of the arch force is resisted by a prestressed concrete deck anchored at the end abutments. The arch footings are connected with the end abutments by concrete struts.
In the architectural competition, SHP design was awarded by the first prize and design was selected for construction.
