Most Footbridge:
New Connection of The City, Landscape and The Lake

Tender

The design creates an attractive, flowing connection between the city of Most and the lake. The deck in an elegant curve spans a significant barrier — comprising a highway, railway, tram lines, and the Bílina River — while an architecturally and technically impressive pedestrian and cycle bridge further enhances the area's infrastructure. The project’s focal point is a curved suspension structure with a 195‑meter span, supported by an inclined pylon. Positioning the pylon off bridge axis opens up unobstructed views of the landscape, the city, and a major historical and technical landmark: the relocated Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The pylon’s inclination toward the slopes of Hněvín hill helps integrate the structure into the landscape and creates a memorable city gateway for those arriving via the E442 highway.

The design, which was developed in cooperation with Studio Acht, Prague, won first prize in an international architectural competition.
