Two similar viaducts, 612 m and 857 m long, are being built on the D3 motorway in the Kaplice – Nažidla section. Both viaducts consist of two parallel bridges with spans from 30 to 50 m. The superstructure of each bridge consists of two continuous steel plate girders and a composite concrete slab. The piers, up to 30.9 m high, consist of slender reinforced concrete columns with pier caps. The steel beams are assembled behind the abutments and then incrementally launched into the designed position.
