D1 Motorway Viaduct across the Bečva River and Railroad Olomouc – Prerov

Under Construction

The 941 m long viaduct, which consists of two parallel bridges, crosses the Becva River, the Olomouc – Přerov railway line, the chemical plants and the green vitriol dump. The 21‑span bridges are formed by pairs of steel girders and a reinforced concrete slab. In view of the corrosive effects of green vitriol, in the central part of viaduct the I girders transfer into narrow box girders and the piers were cast into UHPC precast shells. The beams were assembled on erection towers, then the bridge slab was incrementally concreted.
