The new scientific library, shaped as an elongated cube of a height of 42 m, has nine floors interconnected by elevators and staircases. The load bearing structure of a plan of 33.6 x 33.6 m consists of a prestressed concrete grid structure, which is indirectly supported by three structural cores. The span length of the beams between the cores is 19.1 m, the maximum length of the cantilevers is 7.8 m. The higher floors are set back in selected places, and the library space becomes vertically continuous. The floors are interconnected here by spiral staircases.
