Delta Ponds Pedestrian Bridge

Completed in 2010

The pedestrian bridge is assembled from the cable-stayed structure crossing the highway and approaches. The main structure of length 133.4 m is formed by a continuous slab of thickness of 0.49 m that is suspended on a pylon.

The V-shaped pylon is assembled of two precast columns frame-connected to the deck and stiffened by a bottom diaphragm that was cast after the erection of the deck. The stay cables have a semi-fan arrangement; they are formed by strands that are pin-connected to the legs of the pylons and the deck.

The main span crossing the highway is assembled of precast segments and a cast-in-place deck slab. To simplify production, the segments were not match-cast.
